English-born Mike Davis played college and semi-professional soccer on the side of the Atlantic where it's called football. After coming over to the States, he became the director of the Cascade Soccer Camp. Mike was the head men's soccer coach for the University of Oregon from 1977-79, then he become the head men's soccer coach at University of Portland from 1979-85. In 1897, he became the head men's soccer coach at Catlin Gabel High School, and in 1994 he added the role of Athletic Director. While taking on both jobs at once, the soccer coaching skills didn't disappear. Mike has brought nine boys' state soccer championships and four runner-up titles to Catlin Gabel. He was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America National Coach of the Year twice, in 1990 and 2000, and in 2004 he was honored by the National Athletic Coaches Association as the National Boys Soccer Coach of the Year. Mike has academic achievements as well as extensive experience on the field. He holds a Ph.D in Physical Education from the University of Oregon, and he's also the co-author of Coaching Soccer Effectively from Human Kinetics Publishers.
